It is mandatory to use your Kohl’s credit card while making payment for purchased merchandise to avail this discount.

This introductory purchase discount can be combined with other dollar-off discounts such as Yes2You Reward and Kohl’s Cash offers, to make huge savings. It cannot be combined with other percent-off discounts.

Take note of the product categories and brand aren’t eligible for promotional discounts of coupons. These are given Kohl’s website on following link: cs.kohls.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1086

The Kohl’s Charge card is bit different from other retail store cards, in a way that you will not get everyday discount; in fact, cardholders will get 12 special discount coupons, one per month. These are described as additional discounts on sale price by the Kohl’s. Discount offers are valid for certain period of time only. These discounts may range from 15–30%.

You must pay with your Kohl’s Charge Card to use the discounts, and the exclusions mentioned above for the introductory discount also apply

Drawbacks of Kohl’s Credit Cards

·         Limited Time Availability of Rewards

One of the biggest drawbacks of the Kohl’s credit card is not having the ability to use rewards anytime. As mentioned earlier, your special offers are only good for a certain period of time, and if you miss it, you will not be able to use your reward.

·         Too Many Reward Programs Create Confusion

Your rewards can get confusing because Kohl’s offers 2 other programs independent of the Kohl’s Charge card: Yes2You Rewards and Kohl’s Cash.

  • Yes2Youearns shoppers 1 point for every $1 spent, earning a $5 reward for every 100 points. Yes2You members also get 8 savings offers a year, a free birthday gift, opportunities to earn bonus points, and more.
  • Kohl’s Cashis a program where shoppers earn $10 Kohl’s Cash for every $50 they spend. The coupon is sent via e-mail or automatically stored in the app. You can’t use Kohl’s cash for gift cards or Kohl’s Cares merchandise.

The good thing is, the special offers from your Kohl’s credit card can be combined with Yes2You rewards and Kohl’s Cash. The Kohl’s Charge reward (percent-off coupon) is applied after all other discounts are taken.

The bad there is bad news, they can only be combined when the promotion dates for reward programs (Yes2You or Kohl’s Cash) overlap with Kohl’s Charge discount coupons. This can be really confusing if it is difficult for you to keep time track of your coupons and their respective promo dates. This is also really frustrating if you’ve got a busy schedule and miss out on the prime days to save or miss out on your promo dates altogether.

·         High Annual Percentage (APR)

Another big drawback of the Kohl’s Charge card is the high APR. At 27.24%, cardholders who carry a balance will accrue hefty interest fees, especially with low minimum payments stretched over long periods of time. Additionally, late fees will cost you up to $37. This will negate any discount benefit you have availed.

·         Excluded List of Product Categories and Brands

There are quite a few product categories and brands that are excluded from rewards. List is given on kohls.com.

·         Poor Customer Support

Customers often report problems with processing of card payment and incompetent customer support.

2.     In-Store

Credit card payments can be made in-store using check, cash, debit card, money order, or Kohl’s Cares cards.

Similar to online system, payments are free and can be made 24 hours a day with automated phone system. Payments made by 07:00 PM (CST) will post the same day, while payments made after that will post the following day.

On the other hand, with a customer service representative, a fee may be charged. Customer service reps are only available from 07:00 AM to 09:00 PM (CST), Monday through Saturday, and 08:00 AM to 09:00 PM (CST) on Sunday. Payments made up to 11:59 PM (CST) will post on the same day.

4.     By Mail

If you want to make payment through mail then checks are the only acceptable form of payment.

Payments received by mail by 05:00 PM (CST) will post that same day; any payments received after that time will post the following day.
